BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Biology is the syudy of plants, animals and microbes. It is one of three science subjects which make up the Junior Science syllabus.
For Junior Cert, Biology involves experimental workand theory which is very relevant and up to date scientifically. The practical aspect of this syllabus makes it interesting and easier to learn.

At Leaving Cert it is a subject on its own. The new syllabus recently introduced is very practically orientated, having 22 mandatory experiments. All students are offered the opportunity to do these experiments in groups of two in the Leaving Certificate cycle.

Biology, although requiring a lot of learning, is now a very interesting course, and very relevant to everyday life.
